Darchula, March 31 -- Two people died, and four others were injured after a jeep carrying staff of the irrigation office met with an accident in Darchula.

The vehicle was travelling from Osil to Gokuleshwar in Shailyashikhar Municipality when it crashed on Tuesday morning, police said.

The deceased have been identified as sub-engineer Manisha Pal and employee Bharat Titara, both working at the Water Resources and Irrigation Division Office in Darchula. They died on the spot.

Four others sustained injuries. The injured are Akbar Mahar of ward 4 of Shailyashikhar Municipality, vehicle owner Bikram Mahar from the same area, driver Prakash Thagunna, and Min Bahadur Pal of ward 5 of Malikarjun Rural Municipality.
