Kathmandu, March 3 -- The ANFA National League kicked off on January 14 between 17 teams. Four of them-Laligurans Association Club, Chitlang FC, Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club and Kankrebihar Youth Club-qualified from the ANFA President League. The remaining are 13 of the 14 A-Division Clubs; Himalayan Sherpa Club did not participate.

Originally envisioned as a 10-team tournament featuring the top four President League sides and the top six from the previous A Division, the National League was expanded to 17 teams. The move effectively positions it as a substitute for the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League, last held in 2023.
