Kanchanpur, Feb. 25 -- The Shuklaphanta National Park will begin its tiger census from March 7, following the House of Representatives election.
Purushottam Wagle, information officer at SNP, said cameras will be installed in tiger territories across the park and nearby Jogbudha of Dadeldhura and Laljhadi-Mohana Reserve Area. The area, named the Shuklaphanta-Laljhandi-Jogbuda Complex, recorded 36 adult tigers in 2022, including 16 females and 12 males, with eight more identified later.
Conservationists say dense prey species in the 305 sq km park support tiger growth.
