Birendranagar, April 12 -- Three people were injured in a fire caused by a cooking gas leak in Jajarkot district on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 10am at the kitchen of Thalu Prasad Jaisi in ward 2 of Nalgad Municipality, according to the District Police Office, Jajarkot.

Police said the fire broke out when his wife, 42-year-old Maya, attempted to light a flame using a lighter, triggering an explosion after a gas leak.

Maya, her 22-year-old son Ganesh, and her 37-year-old sister Rupa Jaisi were injured in the incident, Police Inspector Ek Bahadur Nepali said.
