Kapilvastu, July 29 -- Three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed after a truck hit pedestrians and a cyclist along the Taulihawa-Bahadurganj postal road in Kapilvastu on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place near Gaindahawa Chowk in Maharajgunj Municipality-2 when a truck, travelling from Bahadurganj towards Taulihawa, struck the victims.

According to district police, the victims were identified as 12-year-old local resident Ananda Kahar, 75-year-old Gholhar Kurmi of Maharajgunj Municipality-3, and 45-year-old Vijay Kumar Baniya.

The accident occurred at around 7:15am when the speeding truck, which was carrying alcohol, hit the victims.
