Baitadi, Sept. 15 -- A landslide buried a house in Baitadi district on Monday night, putting an entire village at high risk and prompting authorities to urge ten families to move to safer ground.

The landslide struck around 9pm in Lamuni village of Purchaudi Municipality-8, burying the house of Ganesh Datta Joshi, according to police.

People inside the house managed to escape unhurt. The house was destroyed, while food grains, clothing and other belongings were swept away. The Joshi family is now staying with relatives.

Police said the landslide has left the entire Lamuni village vulnerable.

Authorities have identified ten households as being at high risk and urged them to relocate to safer areas.
