Kathmandu, Sept. 2 -- Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday with relief supplies for people affected by the devastating floods that struck Nepal on August 26.

Sood, who arrived with the Sood Charity Foundation team, said the group had brought food and blankets from India and would continue assessing what affected communities need.

"We are here to meet all the victims of the flood," Sood told reporters after arriving in Kathmandu. "We just want to be with the people who are in need and will try to bring their lives back [on track]."

He said the immediate relief effort includes blankets and food materials, while the team is also asking people on the ground what additional assistance is required.
