Sheikh hits century as Nepal set UAE 314-run target
Kathmandu, Sept. 12 -- Nepal set the United Arab Emirates a target of 314 runs in the final of the ACC Men's Premier Cup after opener Aasif Sheikh struck a century in Malaysia on Saturday.
Nepal, who won the toss and elected to bat, posted 313 for nine from their 50 overs at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Aasif top-scored with 106 off 102 balls, hitting eight fours and four sixes.
It was Nepal's highest total against the UAE in a one-day international, surpassing the 289 they scored against them in Kirtipur in May. Nepal have now crossed the 300-run mark only four times in ODIs. Their 313 is also their third-highest ODI total.
The century was Sheikh's second in ODIs. He had previously scored 110 against Papua New Guinea in Kirtipur...
