Siraha, Aug. 1 -- The government and the family of 15-year-old Ganesh Yadav, who was killed during unrest in Golbazar, Siraha, reached a seven-point agreement late on Friday night after hours of negotiations.

The deal came after the victim's family waited for more than eight hours to meet Home Minister Sudan Gurung. The talks were delayed as the minister remained engaged in meetings in Lahan before travelling to Golbazar.

The agreement was signed shortly before midnight by Ganesh's father, Rambriksha Yadav, and Minister Gurung.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Home Affairs has committed to immediately initiate the process of declaring Ganesh a national martyr. The government will also provide his family with Rs1 million in relief a...
