Chitwan, March 7 -- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane has officially been declared the winner from Chitwan-2, securing 54,402 votes.
His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Mina Kumari Kharel, received 14,564 votes, while CPN-UML's Asmin Ghimire finished with 6,942 votes. Nepali Communist Party's Pratap Gurung tallied 4,965 votes.
This marks Lamichhane's third victory in the constituency over three years. He first won in 2022 with 49,300 votes, and later in the 2023 by-election with 54,176 votes.
Lamichhane previously served as Home Minister but faced disqualification after failing to complete the process to regain Nepali citizenship. After fulfilling the requirements, he successfully contested the by-election....
