Kathmandu, March 21 -- Adverse weather conditions, including continuous rain, landslides and snowfall, have disrupted transportation and essential services across several parts of the country.

In Nawalparasi District, traffic along the Daunne stretch of the East-West Highway has been completely halted since 11 am due to muddy conditions caused by persistent rainfall.

The section, which had been operating one-way since Friday, was fully blocked after vehicles became stuck in mud and smaller vehicles struggled to navigate potholes. Hundreds of vehicles remain stranded in a long queue, particularly in areas such as Daunne Bazaar, Paisatthi Mod and the downhill stretch.
