Kathmandu, May 21 -- Veteran mountaineering guide Pasang Dawa Sherpa, who climbed Mount Everest for the 30th time on Monday, is set to attempt his 31st ascent of the world's highest peak on Thursday.

Sagar Kumar Poudel, managing director of TAG Nepal Treks & Expeditions Pvt Ltd, confirmed the development. He said Sherpa has already set off for the summit attempt.

According to Poudel, Sherpa is expected to reach the summit on Friday morning if weather conditions remain favourable.

"He has gone for another ascent and is aiming for yet another successful summit," he said.
