Dolpa, July 5 -- Security forces have been mobilised for relief and rescue operations after a flood hit Gairigaun in ward 5 of Jagdulla Rural Municipality in the Himalayan district of Dolpa on Sunday morning.

Junu Hamal Dhakal, chief district officer, said the Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and the Nepali Army have been deployed in the area. She said the deployed teams are collecting further details, along with carrying out rescue operations.

"Security forces are holding a meeting at the district level. The local rural municipality has said it will distribute relief itself for now. We are discussing coordination with the rural municipality for relief distribution and rehabilitation work," she said.
