Nepal restores power, rebuilds links in flood-hit Rasuwa and Nuwakot
Kathmandu, Sept. 9 -- The government has stepped up efforts to restore electricity and transport links in areas devastated by the August 26 floods in the Bhotekoshi river, with power supplies restored to more communities in Nuwakot and a temporary bridge being installed to reopen a key road.
Electricity was restored on Tuesday to wards 10 and 11 of Bidur Municipality in Nuwakot district, as well as Tarkeshwar-4, according to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.
About 83 percent of electricity services in Rasuwa and 95 percent in Nuwakot have now been restored, Shrestha said.
