Nepal, Aug. 23 -- As Nepal and China mark the 71st anniversary of their diplomatic relations, both nations have the opportunity to move beyond ceremonial commemorations and confront the hard realities that have left Kathmandu struggling to transform its geographical proximity to Beijing into tangible economic prosperity. This relationship, which reflects a civilisational grandeur, is increasingly tested by the complex nature of modern geopolitics, implementation failures and institutional frailties. This milestone therefore invites us not just to celebrate but, more importantly, to reflect, to assess, and to envision the future of our bilateral ties.
