More than a children's tale
Kathmandu, June 8 -- Ek Theatre is staging 'Shyal Singha', a play based on the Nepali curriculum's fable tale.
Directed by Tirthraj Vishwakarma, it explores the contradictory nature of two animals: the jackal, an opportunistic omnivore and the lion, a powerful predator.
This play is about identity and existence. It explores the story of a jackal raised in a lion's family and questions where it will ultimately belong and how it will discover its true identity.
"The theme presented in this story is not limited to fiction alone; it reflects the reality experienced by many people in today's society. On the one hand, we are gradually losing touch with our own identity for various reasons; on the other, humanity itself seems to be fading.
