Nepal, July 13 -- Heavy monsoon rain triggered deadly landslides in different parts of the country, killing two people, injuring another, and disrupting traffic along the Nepal-China border on Monday.

In Dolakha, a four-month-old infant died, and her mother was seriously injured after they were struck by a landslide while returning home from the maternal family's house.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 9pm on Sunday at Kyampol in ward 1 of Kalinchok Rural Municipality.

The infant died while being taken to Dhulikhel Hospital in Dolakha. Her 19-year-old mother, Sharmila Thami, sustained serious injuries and has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.
