Kathmadnu, Feb. 20 -- Police in Dang have arrested a man for allegedly burning a flag bearing the election symbol of the CPN-UML in Tulsipur.

Police said Buddhi Bahadur Basnet, 55, of Kalakhola in ward 7 of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, was arrested on Friday on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

According to police, the incident took place at around 9:30pm at Birendra Chowk in ward 5 of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City. Videos circulating on social media show a group chanting slogans against UML chair and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli before setting fire to the flag.

Police said a search is underway for others allegedly involved.
