Kathmandu, Sept. 29 -- Major highways linking Kathmandu have reopened, with traffic moving in one or both directions at different points, according to the latest update from the Department of Roads.

Shubha Raj Neupane, deputy director general and spokesperson for the department, said the BP Highway, Prithvi Highway, Kanti Highway, Tribhuvan Highway, Arniko Highway and the Balkhu-Kulekhani-Bhimphedi-Hetauda road are all open to traffic.

"Some sections are operating one-way, while most stretches are carrying traffic in both directions," Neupane said.
