Biratnagar, Oct. 9 -- Koshi police will deploy 8,133 police personnel to maintain security during Dashain and Tihar. The Koshi Province Police Office in Biratnagar has stepped up security across all 14 districts under its Festival Security Plan 2026.

The deployment aims to prevent crime, road accidents and other untoward incidents during the festive period, said Shekhar Khanal, chief of the provincial police office. "The security plan has been introduced to ensure that people can celebrate the festivals in a joyful, harmonious and fear-free environment," Khanal said.
