Kathmandu, April 25 -- The government has continued bulldozing settlements built along riverbanks in Kathmandu.

Evictions have been carried out in Thapathali of ward 11 under Kathmandu Metropolitan City, while bulldozers have been mobilised in Gairigaun (ward 9) and Shantinagar (ward 31) on Saturday.

Preparations are also underway to remove unauthorised settlements at Buddhachowk, Gothatar (ward 8) and Manohara Tole (ward 9) of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, a total of 871 unauthorised households have been identified-476 in Shantinagar, 162 in Gairigaun, 143 in Thapathali, 77 in Gothatar and 13 in Manohara Tole.
