Heavy rain disrupts Congress convention
Kathmandu, Oct. 7 -- The Nepali Congress's 15th general convention was disrupted on Wednesday after strong winds and heavy rain affected the closed-door session at Khula Manch.
Party spokesperson Devraj Chalise said delegates had been preparing to conclude discussions on various proposals and reports and adopt them during Wednesday's session. The sudden storm and heavy rain, however, disrupted the proceedings, with delegates unable to reach the venue.
The closed-door session was originally scheduled to begin at 10:30am but was later pushed to 11:30am following a plan to hold it after the lunch break. The session was already underway at Khula Manch when the weather deteriorated.
