Heat rises across Tarai as westerly wind weakens
Kathmandu, June 2 -- The influence of westerly winds has weakened, leading to a rise in temperatures across the country, especially in the Tarai plains of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.
The department has urged people in these areas to take necessary precautions as hot conditions are expected during the day.
Officials said the westerly low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and local wind patterns are still present over Nepal. However, the system that had been bringing regular rainfall in recent days has now weakened.
