Germany provides €8 million in assistance to Nepal after Bhotekoshi floods
Kathmandu, Sept. 10 -- Germany is providing around €8 million in assistance to Nepal following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods, combining emergency relief with humanitarian and longer-term development support for affected communities.
More than €500,000 of the package is being provided as emergency assistance through the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism, at the request of the Nepali government.
The supplies include kitchen sets, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, drinking-water equipment and camp beds. They were provided by the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, as well as the German Life Saving Association (DLRG) and the German state of Thuringia.
