Gauri Kumari Yadav resigns as industry minister
Kathmandu, Sept. 10 -- Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav resigned on Thursday, days after controversial remarks she made about LPG bottling industries drew criticism.
Yadav submitted her resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, according to her communications coordinator, Kamal Chaulagain. She cited personal reasons for stepping down, Chaulagain said.
Her resignation comes after remarks she made during a meeting of a House panel on Wednesday, when she said LPG supplies would not ease unless action was taken against industrialists.
The remarks came amid concerns over LPG supplies, with the minister facing questions over the government's handling of the situation.
