Kathmandu, Aug. 31 -- The death toll from the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers has risen to 903, while approximately 4,247 people remain unaccounted for, according to the latest figures released by the government.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) stated in its search, rescue, and relief update issued at 9am on Monday that 903 bodies, including human remains, have been recovered across several flood-affected districts.

Chitwan has recorded the highest number of body recoveries at 272, followed by Nawalparasi East with 207 and Nawalparasi West with 151. Nuwakot has reported 95 bodies, Gorkha 62, Dhading 55, Tanahun 37, and Rasuwa 24. Many bodies continue to be recovered hundred...
