Kathmandu, July 17 -- The Kathmandu District Court has ordered authorities to release businessmen Deepak Bhatta and Sulav Agrawal in cases related to securities and insurance offences.

After a week-long continuous hearing, a bench of Judge Shiva Prasad Acharya on Thursday issued a detention order, directing Agrawal to deposit Rs20 million and Bhatta Rs15 million as bail in the insurance-related offence case.

In a separate case involving securities offences, the court ordered Agrawal to post Rs15 million and Bhatta Rs10 million in bail.

The court issued the bail orders after completing the preliminary hearing process, which determines whether defendants should be detained pending trial or released under certain conditions.
