Mustang, March 6 -- Nepali Congress candidate Yogesh Gauchan Thakali has won the parliamentary election in Mustang.

Gauchan received 3,307 votes, defeating his closest rival, CPN-UML's Indradhara Bista, who secured 1,806 votes. A former member of the dissolved House of Representatives, Gauchan is the son of Congress leader and former minister Romi Gauchan.

Counting in Mustang is now complete.

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidates are ahead of other party candidates in 60 constituencies, whereas the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress are each leading in eight and five constituencies, respectively. The Nepali Communist Party leads in two and other parties lead in two.
