Kathmandu, Aug. 5 -- The government on Wednesday appointed former Tribhuvan University rector Khadga Bahadur KC as chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC), while also naming development economist Yanki Ukyab as the new chief executive officer of the Investment Board Nepal.

The appointments were approved at a Cabinet meeting, according to Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel.

KC, a professor at Tribhuvan University's Central Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, previously served as the university's rector.
