Kathmandu, March 7 -- 'Charandas Chor' will be staged at Mandala Theatre Nepal from March 13 to 25. The production will run daily from 5:15 pm to 6:45.
The play is written by the late Habib Tanvir, a playwright, theatre director, poet, and actor from India. The play's story is based on a famous Rajasthani folk tale that charts the tumultuous life of a petty thief.
In this satirical drama, a thief vows to tell the truth at all times after meeting a spiritual guru. As he continues stealing while refusing to lie, the character becomes caught in a series of situations that reveal hypocrisy and corruption in society.
