'Long Live Pop Art' at Taragaon Next
Kathmandu, May 28 -- Taragaon Next presents a solo exhibit of Reyan Tamang, a contemporary Nepali artist based in Kathmandu. 'Long Live Pop Art', featuring 12 paintings and 1 sculpture, will be on view from May 29 to May 31.
For Tamang, the exhibit is a meditation on pop art, exploring the often overlooked contemporary aspects of Nepali lifestyle. Primarily working with acrylic paint on wood, he explores perspectives, human experiences and interests.
With the aim of creating his own distinct style within Nepal's subjectivity, his paintings are mostly based on wood. Acrylic on wood, to be precise.
