Jammu, Sept. 28 -- The BJP will take its fight over the Assembly's statehood resolution to the streets. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma announced that the party will run a campaign across Jammu and Kashmir against the inclusion of references to the 2000 and 2024 resolutions in the motion seeking restoration of statehood.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar on Monday, Sharma said the BJP favours restoring statehood but will not support any reference to the constitutional position that existed before 1953. Had the resolution been confined to statehood alone, he said, the BJP would have backed it.
