JAMMU, Aug. 14 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organised Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas) at Jammu to commemorate the memories, sufferings and massive displacement of millions of people during the Partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947.
Arvind Gupta, Member Legislative Assembly, Jammu West, was the Chief Guest, while Padam Shri Jitender Udhampuri was the Special Guest. Sonali Arun Gupta, Special Secretary, JKAACL; Dr. Javaid Rahi, Chief Editor, JKAACL and Secretary, Kala Kendra Jammu; Dr. Nitan Sharma, Faculty, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; and Meenakshi Slathia, Deputy Advocate General, J&K High Court, were part of the presidium.
