POONCH, Sept. 10 -- Police have registered a case against two persons following an allegation that a Class 7 student was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted in the Mendhar area of Poonch district.
According to police, cognizance of the matter has been taken and an investigation has been initiated under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
People from the area have urged the authorities to take strict action against those found responsible for the alleged incident. They also appealed to the police to complete the investigation at the earliest and ensure that the accused are dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
