Jammu, Oct. 1 -- A week after Ashok Kaul stepped down as organisation general secretary of the J&K BJP, the party has still not named his successor. The Sangh Parivar leadership has maintained a guarded silence.
Highly placed sources said the appointment will be decided by the Sangh Parivar's top leadership, as only a Pracharak is eligible for this organisational post.
Kaul, a senior J&K BJP leader, held the post for nearly 12 years, making him the longest-serving general secretary of the organisation. He resigned citing advancing age and health concerns, which he said made it difficult to continue his organisational duties.
