JAMMU, April 5 -- The Traffic Police J&K, under the directions of the Inspector General of Police, Traffic J&K, has initiated a strict enforcement drive against the illegal use of pressure horns across the Union Territory.
It is reiterated that the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, in its directions dated 10.12.2013 in SLP No. (C) 25237/2010 titled Abhay Singh VS State of Uttar Pradesh & Ors., has banned the use of all types of pressure horns. Further, the use of such horns constitutes an offence under Section 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, which may attract a fine up to ?10,000/- and imprisonment up to six months.
