JAMMU, June 18 -- The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Crime Branch Jammu has registered a criminal case against one Mehraj Ahmed Zargar of Bijbehara, Anantnag, for allegedly cheating a complainant of approximately ?15 lakh on the false promise of securing Government employment.
The case has been registered following a written complaint lodged by the complainant , alleging that the accused falsely projected himself as the Personal Assistant to the Principal Secretary and claimed to have influence with senior Government authorities. On the strength of these false representations, the accused allegedly induced the complainant to pay around ?15 lakh in different instalments during 2024 for arranging Government jobs for his relatives.
