Samba, July 3 -- In a humanitarian gesture, Samba Police successfully reunited a mentally challenged woman from Himachal Pradesh with her family after tracing her identity through sustained efforts and timely police action.
On June 30, 2026, a woman was found wandering near the Border Police Post (BPP) Dug under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh. During the preliminary enquiry, it was observed that she was mentally challenged and unable to disclose her identity, address or any details about her family.
Recognizing the need for immediate care and assistance, the police took the woman into safe custody and launched a meticulous effort to ascertain her identity.
