Samba, June 18 -- In a major breakthrough against organized crime, Samba Police on Thursday busted an inter-state gang of hardcore criminals allegedly involved in extortion activities across Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, arresting six members and recovering a cache of arms and ammunition. According to police, the gang was operating under the directions of incarcerated gangster Rohit Kumar alias Makhan and was engaged in extortion rackets in both states. The gang's involvement had also surfaced during the investigation into a recent daylight shooting incident in Chandigarh in which a pharmacy worker was killed.
