Chandigarh, Sept. 26 -- Tension prevailed at Chitkara University, located on the Chandigarh-Patiala Road, late Friday night after reports circulated on social media claiming that two female students had gone missing and had allegedly died. Following the circulation of the reports, a large number of students gathered on the university campus and staged a protest, demanding clarification from the administration.
After receiving information about the situation, police and university officials reached the spot. Station House Officer (SHO) Gursevak Singh and University Registrar Colonel Rakesh Sharma interacted with the students and attempted to calm the situation.
