NEW DELHI, Sept. 10 -- Prince Rahim Aga Khan V on Thursday called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President Murmu appreciated the projects implemented by the Aga Khan Development Network in India in areas such as water and sanitation, education, maternal health, urban redevelopment, women's empowerment, and employment generation, her office said in a statement.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is visiting India from September 9 to 15 following an invitation from Vice President C P Radhakrishnan.

This is his first visit to India since his accession as the 50th Imam (religious leader) of the Ismaili community.

Welcoming him, the President offered her condolences on the passing of his father, late Aga Khan IV.
