NEW DELHI, Oct. 2 -- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday urged youth to draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, particularly their ideals, public service and commitment to the nation. Gandhi's life demonstrated the power of truth, morality, non-violence and Satyagraha, Birla said. The Lok Sabha speaker was addressing students from across the country who are participating in the 'Know Your Leader' programme.
In his address at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, the old Parliament building, Birla said Gandhi's philosophy showed that movements based on truth and non-violence could bring lasting change.
