Maligaon, March 30 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced an advanced OFC-based Integrated Voice-cum-Data Communication System at Level Crossing (LC) Gates to enhance safety and operational efficiency. The system is being implemented across 50 LC Gates using the robust Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) network of Indian Railways, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted communication between Station Masters and gate operators.
The system has already been installed at Senchoa Station and Barpathar station connecting non-interlocked and interlocked gates. With this system, Station Masters can monitor real-time gate status, including opening and closing, directly from the SM room, significantly improving control and coordination.
