Jammu, April 9 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday dismissed a woman constable from service for her established involvement in drug trafficking, marking the second such termination within nine days as authorities intensify efforts to purge the force of personnel linked to the narco-terror network.
The dismissed employee, Shameema Bano, served as a follower in the police department at Baramulla district in north Kashmir. She had been placed under suspension as far back as June 2021 following her arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu, in a case registered under the NDPS Act involving seizure of contraband.
