Mahaparinirvan Divas of Ramabai Ambedkar observed at Gorakh Nagar, Bahu Fort Jammu
JAMMU, May 27 -- Gorakh Nagar Bahu Fort Jammu observed Mahaparinivan Divas of Ramabai Ambedkar at Gorakh Nagar Bahu Fort Jammu. While speaking on this occasion Sham Lal Basson ex-corporator said that Ramabai Ambedkar was born in a poor family to Bhikhu Dhotre and Rukmani in the village of Vanand near Dapoli Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. Ramanai was married to Bhim Rao on 4th April 1906 in a simple ceremony at fish market at Byculla Bombay Ambedkar's at the age of 9 years. Ambedkar's affectionate name for Ramabai was 'Ramu'. They had five children namely Yashwant,Gangadhar, Indu and Rajratna.They lost. They lost four children except Yashwant Rao at very tender age.
