LEH, April 17 -- The Union Territory administration has introduced traditional 'Ladakhi uniforms' for commercial drivers to enhance tourist experience and promote local culture. The move was announced on Friday after a nod by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar. The Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Ladakh, issued a circular making the traditional attire mandatory for all commercial drivers across Leh and Kargil, across all categories of transport vehicles.

The LG also flagged off a vehicle branding initiative featuring a common logo for all registered tourist vehicles to ensure easy identification.
