Jammu, March 1 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the Kashmir Valley for two days amid ongoing pro-Iran, anti-Israel, and anti-United States protests following the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.
"We have decided to keep schools, colleges, and universities closed for two days," Itoo said, adding that the government is closely monitoring the situation on the ground.
She stated that a decision on reopening institutions would be taken only after a thorough assessment of the prevailing conditions.
