JAMMU, Aug. 31 -- As part of its ongoing Operation Kamdhenu against illegal bovine smuggling, Jammu Police foiled two attempts to illegally transport bovines, rescuing 29 bovine animals and seizing two vehicles.
In the first incident, Police Station Nagrota intercepted truck bearing registration No. JK18A-6500 at Rajan Bar, which was found carrying 20 bovines. The driver, however, fled from the spot.
In the second incident, a dumper bearing registration No. JK19A-2576 was intercepted at Khanpur near Gref Company on NH-44.
On checking, 09 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle, and the driver, Habib S/o Mohd Ali R/o Najot, Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua, A/P Ghati, Tehsil Budhi, District Kathua, was apprehended.
