JAMMU, Feb. 19 -- The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh at Jammu has stayed the operation of an order suspending an MBBS doctor's registration for two years, observing that the action prima facie appeared to have been taken without notice or opportunity of hearing, in violation of the principles of natural justice. Justice M.A. Chowdhary, after hearing Sr. Adv Amit Gupta for the petitioner, passed the interim order on 18.02.2026, granting relief to Dr Tanishq Gupta, whose MBBS registration was removed by the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council (JKMC) vide order dated 07.02.2026, and whose application for registration of MD Psychiatry as an additional qualification was also rejected.
