Doda police intensifies drive against illegal mineral transportation; two vehicles seized, Rs. 52,064 penalty imposed

DODA, Aug. 18 -- Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, District Police Doda has taken action against two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah, resulting in the imposition of a total penalty of Rs 52,064 by the District Mineral Office (DMO), Doda.

During traffic checking conducted in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah, a police team led by SHO Police Station Bhaderwah intercepted and seized a tipper bearing registration No. JK02AK-7215 for illegal transportation of mineral. The matter was taken up with the District Mineral Office, Doda, which subsequently imposed a penalty of Rs 16,048 against the vehicle.
